MINECRAFT: EDUCATION EDITION IS NOW AVAILABLE ON CHROMEBOOKS



Just in time for many students to go back to school, Microsoft is bringing the education version of its blocky video game Minecraft to Chromebooks.



The Minecraft Education Edition for Chromebook is available Monday. It includes all the same features of the Windows and iPad versions, and also multiplayer across platforms, according to the company. MC NAME The educational version of the game is designed to aid teachers in teaching everything from engineering, science, technology, and math (STEM) to art, language, and history. According to Microsoft, the program has been licensed by thousands in more than 115 countries.



Microsoft announced that the game is now available on Chromebooks and that the most recent update features new STEM lessons and an "special Minecraft world" created by the American Beekeeping Federation's Kids and Bees Program.



Minecraft Education Edition for Chromebook requires a Microsoft Account to login. The game is licensed by schools via Microsoft 365 for Education. However, the company stated that it is working on allowing users to login using a Google account.
