It is thought that the mac launcher doesn't work, minecraft crashes on launch.

You possibly can obtain an app file to do this for you

The total process for launching correctly is
1. Save the launcher jar on the Desktop in a folder called ftb
2. Open terminal and kind

There's a plan (I'm pretty positive) to release the launcher in application format for mac that will do that. (Will be linked replacing the crossed out area on the primary post). Nevertheless, good answer.

Just like with Vanilla server you can also make a launch.command file
Heres a one I threw together based on the code above

Just unzip and drop it into the same folder you've gotten the FTB.jar in and double click on.
In the event you get an error saying it doesn't have permission, open a brand new terminal window sort in with out the quotes "sudo chmod +x (drag launch.command here)" then hit enter.
Make sure you could have an area between the "+x" and the file path.

Have any of you tried merely beginning it with this:
Code:
cd ~/Desktop/ftb/ java -jar FTB_Launcher.jar

This has worked for me. Minecraft crafting find it bizarre although that the sport can not run with out beginning it this manner. Especially because it would not throw any errors, however simply closes...
Have anybody investigated the cause for the odd behavior when launching the jar by double clicking it, or is it nonetheless a thriller why it acts the way in which it does?

If you have java 7 installed it will not work on OS X. If you have an interest, learn http://lwjgl.org/discussion board/index.php?matter=4711.0 .

I have Java 7 put in... and it works high-quality for me.. at the least im 98% sure i've Java 7, should verify once i get back house..
I know of the issues with LWJGL, have been following the development of that thread for some time.. wanna get the new version. The one that ships with Minecraft has a nasty memoryleak relating to age-changing in Mystcraft (probably also Nether/End, but unsure)

This one works the best, thanks!

Additionally, you are able to do an alias and put it anywhere you want, and rename it however you need

You'll be able to open the terminal in two ways:
- Go to Finder, click on "Applications", scroll right down to "Utilities" and double click to open it. Scroll down to "Terminal" and double click on on it.
- Hit Command + House (to open spotlight) and type "Terminal" (without the quotes).
