NEW MINECRAFT EULA EXCLUSIVITY DRAFTED TO CLARIFY MONETIZATION

Minecraft users can create their own servers. This has been an extremely sharp double-edged sword. It is a low-res, bloated sword, however it is sharp on both sides. These servers allow players to do anything they want and that's great. However, sometimes, they violate the terms of the EULA and can put Mojang in serious trouble.

"Some privately-owned Minecraft servers charge in-game items like the xp boost, or access to certain game modes. Some of them even charge quite a lot," Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson wrote in an article on his blog yesterday. "I don't know how many emails we've received from parents, requesting their money back, which is usually around $100. child has bought an item pack on a server we have no control over."

Mojang has formulated new rules for monetization to make sure that there are no such accusations in the future. Best minecraft servers has provided the rules on its website, however it's basically a matter of removing restrictions on creating in-game items or other monetized items. Just make sure to communicate with your customers that you aren't Mojang, don't sell items that impact gameplay, and don't charge real-world money for in-game money.

Oh, and one more thing: Persson's request "Herobrine, please stop asking." [Image: Mojang]
