After Forge is finished, you can download any mods that you want to have. There are many websites to download mods from, but certain aren't as safe as other sites. Planet Minecraft and Mods.org are two reliable sites to download mods.
https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/3/3f/Download-and-Install-Mods-for-Minecraft-PC-Step-12.jpg/v4-460px-Download-and-Install-Mods-for-Minecraft-PC-Step-12.jpg
/images/thumb/3/3f/Download-and-Install-Mods-for-Minecraft-PC-Step-12.jpg/aid5785969-v4-728px-Download-and-Install-Mods-for-Minecraft-PC-Step-12.jpg

4 Don't extract your mod file if it's zip when you download it from a website. Drag the zip file into the "mods" folder. If the zip folder contains the jar files, you'll only need to drag the jar file to the "mods" folder.

5 Open your minecraft launcher again (Make sure you've set up your Forge profile If not then read Part 3 again). You can click "Play" to start the download of the additional libraries. When it's done, you can enjoy your mod game. Everything is updated and I tried everything to get it to load. All I see is the launch screen. What can I do?

You can allocate more RAM and, if that doesn't work delete your system32 file (even if it tells you it's corrupted). Then, restart One game per day . Thanks! Yes No Not Helpful 22 Helpful 5

Some mods require core mods (e.g. CodeChickenCore) so make sure to review the mod's webpage prior to downloading, as it won't function if it doesn't have its required core mods.
