MINECRAFT: EDUCATION EDITION IS NOW AVAILABLE ON CHROMEBOOKS



Just right in time for students to go back to school, Microsoft is bringing the education edition of its blocky video game Minecraft to Chromebooks.



The Minecraft: Education Edition for Chromebook will be available on Monday. It has the same features as the Windows and iPad versions, including multiplayer across platforms, according to the company. The education-focused version is designed to assist educators in teaching everything from science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM), to history, language and art. According to Microsoft the game has been licensed by thousands across 115 countries.



In addition to coming to Chromebooks, Microsoft said the latest version of the game has new STEM lessons as well as "a special Minecraft world created in conjunction with the American Beekeeping Federation's Kids and Bees program."



Minecraft: Education Edition for Chromebook requires a Microsoft account to log in and play the game. nfo.so 's licensed by schools through Microsoft 365 for Education -however, the company says it's working to let users log in with a Google account as well.
