TERRARIA MEETS ALIENS IN A FRANTIC ROGUELIKE DOME KEEPER, PLAYABLE NOW

Dome Keeper is a new Roguelike game that blends underground mining with tower defense. It's reminiscent of the arcade classic Missile Command. Dome Keeper just released a demo on Steam ahead of the forthcoming Steam Next Fest 2022 event So you can check it out and dive deep into the earth to find the materials you need to protect your dome from the deadly inhabitants that are coming to you.

Dome Keeper puts the player in a high-altitude dome above the surface of an unfriendly planet. You must descend into the depths of the planet to discover valuable materials for upgrading. The terrain is divided up into square blocks that are familiar to crafting game veterans Mining is as simple as bumping into them enough times to break them. The more deep you go the more difficult and more difficult mining becomes, so you'll want to start upgrading your equipment before you head too far down.

As with the likes of Minecraft and Terraria Resources are typically tightly packed together and if you notice a glimmer along your tunnel, digging into it will often uncover more valuable materials that are waiting to be collected. Once resources are mined and extracted, they need to be manually dragged to the dome for storage and for use. To do this, press an option to tether the resources. However, the more you drag yourself the more slowly you'll move. At all about video games , you'll become immobile until you drop chunks on the ground.

Once you have your resources at the base you can turn them into upgrades for your jetpack or drill. This allows faster mining and traversal, and has less impact on the maneuverability of your machine. You can also upgrade your dome to shield your base from the hordes of monsters from another dimension.

Tower defense is managed by a large laser that can be rotated around your dome in any direction to target any direction. You can hear any direct threats or attacks to your dome via the tunnels below, which means you will be aware of when it is time to get back on track and clean up. Upgrades to your dome will display important information, such as the date until the next attack, and the health status of your dome.

The moment is that Dome Keeper offers two difficulty settings - the default 'brutal' setting and a less intimidating "hard but doable" choice. It's quite hard initially and the rumbling sound of the surface will cause you to panic. You can play the demo on Steam.

We'll keep you up-to date on any standout forthcoming PC games set for Steam Next Fest. In other news about craft, one fan's Lego Terraria build is tackling bosses and underground mining scenes. We've also got all the information regarding the Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update, as well as the possibility of a Minecraft RTS game from the developers of Minecraft Dungeons.
