NEW MINECRAFT LAUNCHER LAUNCHER STARTS WITH A GREY SCREEN

System Restore is the first line of defense. It can take you back to a time before an issue began, as a time machine. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. You can read the guide first and then restore back to the point you were before it began. Try it now in the event that System Restore isn't enabled on C drive, to enable it in the future.

If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...

Even if you've already tried the steps I provide and you have failed, please try them again in the order I suggest.

1) Run the Store apps troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security Troubleshoot.

2) Search for and install game updates using the Microsoft Store app > Hub (three dots at the top right) > Updates.

3) Reset Minecraft in Windows Settings > Applications > Apps and Features > Minecraft > Advanced Option Repair or Reset. Restart your computer and try again.

If those all fail then uninstall Minecraft from Settings above, restart your PC then reinstall the program from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.

4) The driver for Display is so vital that just updating it often not enough. Let's do our best to get it functioning correctly.

You can update the driver for the Display on the Display adapter's or PC manufacturer's Support downloads web page. https://mcprofile.net/ will give you the exact model number, HP Serial No. or Dell Service Tag - which is indicated on the sticker on your computer.

You can also check for BIOS/UEFI firmware, newer chipsets, network, sound, and other drivers by right-clicking in the Start Menu.

If this doesn't give you the latest or ideal driver for what you need, compare it to the driver offered by the Intel driver update Utility here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/... or the Nvidia Update utility here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e... or the AMD autodect utility here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...

For Display issues, one solution that is working is to Roll back or uninstall the driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, restart the PC to install the driver.

You can also try out older drivers by going to Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab Update Driver > Browse > Let me Select.

Then you'll know you've tried everything except to Windows Update drivers.

You can alter the resolution of the screen until it looks great. Go to Settings > System > Display.

5) If nothing else helps then contact Minecraft Support here: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

I hope you find this useful. You are welcome to ask any questions and keep me informed. If you'll wait to judge whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
