HOW TO: INSTALL.JAR MODS

The way you describe how to install Java mods is wrong. The reason is that when you place the java file in the mod folder, it will just work as a basic mod until another section in the ".minecraft" folder is used. This is what I mean.

1. Cut or copy the jars but don't put them in yet. Open the versions folder, and create a new folder. Paste the jar file in the folder you just created. Copy the jar file into the folder again and this time with a brand new name. Open the jar file in notepad, copy all of the text and exit the file 6. Bagauc and delete it. Create another file (mostly an txt) and name it exactly as the jar file 8. When it is created exactly as the Jar file, save the file with the name as a .json file 9. Open the json file in notpad and paste the next copy you copied 10. Launch the launcher and select the mod you "made

10,5. If this doesn't work, follow these steps 11. Open the versions folder. Select the folder you don’t need. If the mod runs 1.7.10 you'll need locate a folder running 1.7.10 Minecraft version 12. Copy the jar file to the folder you've chosen. Change the name to match the json file. Start the launcher and choose the version you want to use.

If you are unable to locate the folder then go back to the version folder and look for it after the last edited folder and rename it however you want. I suggest renaming the files inside that folder exactly what the folder is called.
