MINECRAFT REACHES 54 MILLION SOLD AND CONSOLE EDITIONS PASS PC

Mojang's Patrick Geuder said that Minecraft's blocky sandbox is nearing 54 million copies across all platforms. Geuder also announced on Twitter that sales of the console (Xbox 360, PS3) versions have now surpassed those of PC and Mac versions. The game will launch on Xbox One, PS4 and Vita in August, the latter being Cross-Buy compatible which is free for players with the PS3 version. Xbox One and PS4 owners that have the game on Xbox 360 or PS3 will be able to download the newer versions for $5.

The first version of Minecraft was released in May 2009. This was two years before its full release in November of 2011. Mojang and its creator Markus "Notch" Persson have celebrated many sales milestones since then, recently noting that 15 million copies of the PC version were sold by April. https://minecraft-servers.biz/ In the same month the Xbox 360 version reached 12 million sold, and the Pocket Edition for iOS and Android hit 21 million.
