Minecraft has been available on virtually every VR headset except Quest until now. But that's about to change with the beta release 'QuestCraft'. This is the official Quest port for Minecraft Java Edition.

The project was considered dead, but QuestCraft has just released its first public build. This is the standalone Minecraft port for Quest 2.

This package includes the majority of Minecraft Java Edition's fun and flexibility, along with motion controller support that allows you to build, chop, and slash with your own hands in VR.

This means that you will need a valid copy of Minecraft Java Edition in order to play it. However, Quest allows you to install and play it for free. Below is a gameplay teaser.

QuestCraft, a beta version of QuestCraft, still needs some love in multiplayer. Servers are now operational, but local LAN games can be played with a friend if you need a quick way to play Minecraft multiplayer.

To play QuestCraft, you'll need to download the APK to your Quest using SideQuest, the unofficial sideloading software and library for Quest. Here's a quick explanation of SideQuest and why it is so important.

QuestCraft installation isn't as easy as just going to SideQuest and downloading it. You'll need to jump through a few hoops to get it working, including installing the QuestCraft launcher, plugging in a few extra files, and granting all requested permissions.
