How to make Minecraft a bed

To make a bed in Minecraft, you'll need three pieces each of two different ingredients: Wool and planks.

Wool can be extracted from sheep. One to three pieces of wool can be obtained by cutting sheep's wool with shears. Killing sheep will net you one. To make one piece of wool, you can combine four pieces (usually dropped by spiders).

For a bed to be made, all wool must be the same colour. Natural spawning can be done with white, gray or brown wool, as well as brown and sometimes pink wool. If you want a different colour, you will need a dyeing agent to mix your wool with.

Logs are made by breaking down trees. Planks can be made by placing logs on a crafting table. Each log makes four planks.

Once you have three pieces of wool and three planks in your possession, place them on your crafting table. Line the three wool pieces horizontally, and then line the three planks horizontally in row below.

Just like in real life, sleeping is incredibly important in Minecraft for a number of reasons.

First: If you play for three consecutive days without sleeping or dying, and you are outside at night or during a storm, frightening creatures called Phantoms will appear in the sky above. They'll slowly swoop down and attack you until you die or go to sleep.
