Setting up your own Minecraft world to play on with friends is a great way to pass the time and enjoy the game. You won't need to manage a friend list since all they need to join your game is your IP address. You may experience lag if your PC can't handle the 1 GB RAM requirement. With some research, you can learn to add mods and plugins to your server, changing how you and your friends play.
The Minecraft Server doesn't include any mods or plugins that enhance your gameplay. To install any additional items, you'll need to watch tutorials and ensure your friends have the necessary mods. However, learning to set up plugins is an excellent idea if you want to create an official MC server that can earn money.
No snapshot support
Minecraft Server supports the latest versions of the game and older. This selection ranges from 1.1 to 1.7.10 to 1.16.5 and further, including the Minecraft Caves update. However, the tool doesn't have any way to run a server for one of the many pre-update snapshots.
don't even mess with me
Only for Java
MC Server is a tool only usable for the Java edition of Minecraft, the oldest option for playing the game. This limitation is unfortunate as the Bedrock edition has many players who either have to pay for server hosting or purchase a realm.
