Minecraft mods can do a lot these days, but some of the coolest ones add in unexpected features. Some let you see forever while others let you drive Mario Karts around the map, and some transform the game into Elden Ring. The Mi Alliance mod however is something completely new and it's fantastic.

The Mi Alliance: Invasion! The mod was released in June. It has been continuously updated since then to fix any kinks or add new features. This Minecraft mod adds new enemies, the Mi Alliance.

Aside from sounding like old-school Worms characters, the Mi Alliance is actually pretty formidable. For starters, they're more than happy to build their own structures, which is odd enough on its own. However, they're also a lot more intelligent than many Minecraft mobs, and will roam around the world in groups ready to fight anyone they come across. The first trailer shows them in action.

These threats are not going to be defeated by you alone. However, you can create your own Mi Alliance and have them fight for you. The 2.0 update, released this week, July 18, adds even more to the mod. This includes more enemies and weapons, as well as ores. This includes unique vehicles to help you explore and new ruins to explore.

It's an ambitious mod which really makes Minecraft feel fresh for long-time players. And if the updates continue at this pace, you can anticipate it growing into something truly unique over the coming months. It's always great when a mod grows from something good and becomes something new, and The Mi Alliance has done that with Invasion!
