These Criteria May Change Over The Course Of Time

The servers list that comes with mIRC in the servers.ini file is carefully maintained for distribution with new mIRC releases. Follow the steps below to let us know if you would like to add a network to this list. Your assistance in keeping the servers updated is greatly appreciated. Please complete the following form if you wish to have a new network added to the servers list. If you do not follow the below format or provide complete information, we will not be able process your request. Please do not attach any attachments. While we can only add one random server (roundrobbin), we will be adding new networks to the list. However, we would appreciate complete information in order to make future decisions. If your network is already on the list and you wish to have any changes made, please use the following format. One person should be appointed to manage the current list of servers. The servers should list in order of importance, with the random server at top. Please do not sort them in alphabetical order. == START HERE == n001=Random serverSERVER:servername:port(s)GROUP:groupname n002=Continent, State, CitySERVER:servername:port(s)GROUP:groupname n003=Continent, State, CitySERVER:servername:port(s)GROUP:groupname

Network name (Network). = random host (irc.network.com). = port number (6660-6669 ). = network contact person. Your email = network homepage. = http:// list servers (page of website) = = http:// average users = average server = average channel =

== END HERE == Once you have prepared your list in the above format, you can email it to us. We will not acknowledge receipt of your email. All requests are saved in a candidate database. Practical reasons limit the number servers on the servers list. Candidates are added on an "first come" basis. Candidates are added to the servers list if they meet certain criteria. Our current criteria include a website that provides information about the network, a stable network with servers that has been in operation for a while, a reasonable amount of users and channels, and so forth. These criteria could change over time. It is generally not a good idea to have a network return incorrect network information. This could include the wrong network names for servers, forcing users to join channels on connect, and requesting users to download files. Gaming If a network does any of these things, the network may not be added to the list. It may be removed from the list if it is already on it. We process the candidate lists with a script that connects each candidate network to check for the number and users, as well as other items. Please ensure that your servers report the name your network in numeric001 "Welcome on the SomeNet IRC Network" (or numeric005 NETWORK=SomeNet), where "SomeNet” is the name your network. We are available to answer any questions or requests.
