I TRIED TO WITHDRAW $3,200 FROM HELABET

The green button said "Withdraw." I clicked it. The page loaded for two seconds, then a red box appeared. "Payment error. Payment rejected by the operator." I took a screenshot. I sent it to the chat. The agent typed back: "Technical issue. Please try again later."

I tried again the next day. Same red box. Same polite nothing. I tried for two months. The money never moved. That was when I stopped believing Helabet was just having a bad week.

Why I signed up

I bet on football. Small amounts. Five dollars here, ten there. I had been on three other bookmakers before, all licensed in places I could check, all slow but honest. Helabet kept appearing in odds comparison sites. The prices on African leagues looked better than what I was getting elsewhere. The app was clean. The deposit options included crypto, which meant I did not have to wait for a bank transfer.

Before I signed up, I opened Trustpilot. The score was 2.3 out of 5. Not good. But I had seen worse scores on sites that turned out fine. I scrolled through a few one-star reviews. People said withdrawals took weeks. People said support stopped answering. I told myself the same thing I always tell myself. Angry people write reviews. Happy people do not.

I made a deposit. About $50. It went through in minutes. The bet slip loaded. The odds were good. For a few weeks, everything worked.

The first month was fine. That is the trap.

I won a little on a Champions League match. Lost a little on a weekend accumulator. The usual rhythm. I made one small withdrawal, around $40, and it arrived in four days. That small payout made me relax. I thought, okay, the bad reviews were just unlucky people. This place works.

I kept playing. Not every day. A few times a week. I built up a balance slowly. By the middle of the second month, I had about $3,200 in the account. I decided to take it out.

The withdrawal that never moved

I submitted the request on a Monday. The money left my balance instantly. It went to "pending." I had seen that before. It usually meant a day or two.

By Friday, it was still pending. I opened the chat. The agent was polite. They said my account needed verification. I sent my ID. I sent a selfie. I sent a bank statement. They said everything was received and approved.

The withdrawal went back to pending. I asked why. The answer was the same sentence I would see many more times over the next two months. "Your request has been forwarded to the relevant department. Please wait."

Then the status changed. It said "Approved." I took a screenshot. I told myself it was fine. The money would arrive soon.

Thirty seconds later, the status changed again. "Payment rejected by the operator."

What I found when I started reading the one-star reviews properly

I am not a tech person. I do not know how to read a license registry. But I can read. And once I started scrolling through the one-stars, I found people describing the exact same thing.

One person wrote that they deposited a total of $250 and managed to reach $3,200. They verified their account and submitted all the documents: passport, national ID, Binance account. When they tried to withdraw, the system approved it and instantly showed an error: "Payment error, Payment rejected by the operator." They filed a complaint with Casino Guru and with the Curaçao Gaming Authority. Nothing happened. Their words: "They are dedicated to scamming people, and no matter how much you win, forget about getting paid they never pay."

Another person wrote that they won a bet and got limited. They did verification and were told to withdraw all funds. Every withdrawal was rejected with the same message: "payment rejected by operator." They said they could not see themselves recovering their $2,264. Their words: "Just a fraudulent book, doing fraudulent things."

Another person wrote: "The system shows my payment was approved, after which it was canceled by the operator. They says system maintence for 2 months."

I sat with those for a minute. Every single one of them had done what I did. Verified. Waited. Got the same red box.

The license I did not check

While I was waiting for my $3,200, I started digging. Not just Trustpilot. I looked at who actually runs Helabet.

I found a certificate from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. It said helabet.com is operated by Optim Development B.V., a company incorporated in Curaçao with Company Number 154511. The license number is OGL/2024/225/0601. It was granted on 16 January 2025 and its status is Active.

That sounded legitimate. A real license, a real company, a real registration number. The same company also operates paripesa.com and captainsbet.com under the same license.

Then I found Gridinsoft. They had scanned helabet.com and given it a trust score of 35 out of 100. The classification was "Suspicious Website." The report said the site had a blacklist warning and that the owner's information was not publicly available.

I did not know what all of this meant exactly. Trust scores are not court rulings. But when a security scanner puts you on a blacklist, and your own withdrawal has been stuck for two months, the picture is not complicated.

The zero replies that made me stop waiting

I found the Trustpilot transparency page for Helabet. Over the past twelve months, the company had 55 organic reviews. Zero verified. Zero invited. And the page showed that Helabet had not responded to a single negative review in the last twelve months.

Fifty-five people took the time to write something. The company did not write back to any of the negative ones. Not once.

I also found a Vanguard interview with a Helabet representative. The representative said the company had 2.5 million active users by the third quarter of 2025. He said: "Advertising brings a player once, actually paying winners brings them back."

I read that quote three times. Paying winners. That was exactly what was not happening to me.

The moment I closed the account

It was a Thursday. I opened the chat one last time. I asked for an update on my $3,200. The agent gave me the same sentence about the relevant department. I typed "I want to close my account." They asked if I was sure. I said yes. They closed it.

The $3,200 never came. I checked my bank for a month afterward. Nothing. I could have kept fighting. I could have filed a complaint on Casino Guru. I could have emailed the Curaçao Gaming Control Board with the license number. But at some point, the energy you spend chasing $3,200 costs more than $3,200.

What I do now

I still bet. Not on Helabet. Not on any site where the withdrawal button gives you a red error box. I read the one-star reviews first now. Not the odds. Not the bonus page. The complaints about payments rejected by the operator. Those are the ones that tell you what a bookmaker actually is.

I also started keeping notes. When I test a site on my phone, I write down how long the withdrawal actually takes, what the chat support says, whether the terms match what happens. I keep those notes on my own site, mobile platform Ghana. It is not fancy. It is just what I wish someone had shown me before I put $50 into Helabet and spent two months learning that an "Active" license does not mean your money will arrive.

If you are thinking about signing up

Maybe you will be luckier than me. Maybe your withdrawal will arrive in four days like my first one did. Maybe you will never have a problem.

But if you are reading this because you searched "Helabet withdrawal problem" or "Helabet payment rejected by operator" or "is Helabet legit," then you already have a feeling. Trust it. Read the Trustpilot one-stars. Look at the Gridinsoft report. Count how many negative reviews the company has replied to. Ten minutes of reading is cheaper than two months of waiting.

I do not know if Helabet will fix their withdrawal system. Maybe they already have. But I know what happened to me. And I know I will not deposit there again.
