What private server would you recommend to somebody who never played wow before?
I am a fairly casual player for most games. I have literally zero WoW exp. I want to eventually access the newest content/lore. Grn online I'm located in Europe.

I would definitely recommend you a fresh server, as it's the best way to enjoy the full experience, with people leveling side-by-side with you. Whitemane (january 2021), Precision (19 Dec), and Whitemane (19 dec) are the next releases. Both have very positive reviews.

Is Whitemane not a Spanish-speaking server? Or did Reddit adds deceive me?
Play on a WotLK server (lordaeron, Warmane or another huge WOTLK-server right now) or on Tauri’s MOP servers - which are a newer version. But WOTLK I believe is a better place to start. Tauri also offers a WOTLK Server called crystalsong that allows you to level up much faster.
Playing on an original 1x server is a good idea, unless you have a lot of time. If that happens, you can always try a server that has high XP rates.
Thank you. While I wait for Precision to arrive, I think I will give Tauri a try. These 2 seem to be the most common answers. To confirm, wotlk refers to the wrath or the lich-king.
Finally, (sorry to bother so much) does it matter in which expansion I start it? (Is it possible to lose progress/content if I start in expansion B versus expansion A? And does every server progress through expansions like Precision plans to?
WOTLK, a casual xpac, is a great choice for a beginner.

Vanilla, TBC and WOTLK will be your first taste.
The vanilla and the tbc stages with wotlk talents are confusing
However, it will still be an issue for everyone else.
Although I would recommend later expansions, not everyone makes them. I don't recommend starting with older expacs. Check my post history and scroll down to see a comment that I made a few days ago about why newer expacs are better for new players.

Lordaeron Warmane is a great choice. It's one if the best scripted Servers out there, one with the best Populations, 1x Rate for the true WoW Experience, and no Pay-to-Win.
Try warmane wotlk, then apollo cataclysm and then tauri mop.
Recommending any server other than vanilla to a completely new wow player is blatantly foolish. Recommending servers with cash shops or pay2win should immediately be punished
You can either wait for a new server (Precision or Whitemane), or you can try Dalaran wow. Dalaran is a wotlk server where they have the eternal progression system in place which allows you to experience all the raids in the expansion unlike fully progressed servers where you get to experience only the last raid tier.
No, Warmane. I would recommend Precision and Whitemane, as Precision launches on Saturday.
Maybe for a start try and search this whole subreddit? Every day we get the identical question open... it's getting annoying.
Don't listen. You can either find a populated server like Atlantiss Karazhan, The Burning Crusade, or Warmane, or you can play retail.

For a novice player, I would recommend choosing a server you enjoy and sticking with it. Wow is not difficult, and you'll quickly pick it up.
If you are looking for a relaxing adventure with questing, where you will read the quest and get the lore. I would say Mist of Panderia Tauri-WoW.
Reason I suggest that server is because it's the furthest progressed expansion server that has polish to it. You'll encounter many bugs and unfinished quests on server like WoW freaks.
If you are looking for a community (don’t listen to people complaining about toxicity, the ignore button works for some reason don’t be afraid to use it), I would recommend Ascension wow. It is the most active server currently. However, you will find a community on almost all servers.
