The Windows location in table above is the default. Launchers have the ability to set.minecraft at any location.

If you are new to Windows and don't know where your appdata folder is, here are some steps:

1. Click Start – Run. If you don't see "Run", press Windows + R. 2. Type %APPDATA%.minecraft, and click "OK". Spotlight can be used to open the folder if you are a Mac user.

1. Shift + Command + G or open the Spotlight popup through the magnifying glass icon on the right of the Menu Bar. 2. Type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and hit | Enter.
