Technoblade, Minecraft YouTuber Watched By Millions, Dies At 23 After Yearlong Battle With Cancer


Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade has died at the age of 23 following a year-long battle with cancer, his family announced Friday.



In a YouTube clip entitled "solong geeks", the father of content creator shared a final message with his subscribers.



"Hello everyone Technoblade here," started the message. "If youre watching this. I am dead."



Technoblade revealed his real identity in the video. He has kept his identity a secret. He thanked his followers for supporting his content, buying merchandise and channel subscriptions, and joked about how his siblings "are going college".



"If I had another hundred life, I think Technoblade is the one I would choose. These were the most joyful years of my entire life. I hope you enjoyed my content, and that you found it funny. I wish you all a long and prosperous life.



Technoblade gained nearly 11 million YouTube subscribers in less than a decade and 3.7 million followers on Twitter as he shared his love for Minecraft, a game where users can create virtual worlds using blocks and create their own storylines. In August 2021, he made it public by telling his followers that he was diagnosed with cancer. He shared the news via a video of him playing Minecraft.



Technoblade died eight hours after his final message was written, according to his father. Technoblade’s father, holding back tears and describing his son as "the best kid" anyone could ask for, added: "I miss Technoblade."



Technoblade's parents issued a statement to the end of the video that has been viewed over 19 million times. It said: "This year had a lot rough spots for my son as he fought stage four cancer. Technoblade refused to complain and kept using his legendary strategic mind to defeat what he believed were almost impossible odds. My son's bravery on this path was a shining lesson to all of us who were privileged to walk it with him. As he did the work he loved, I appreciate your sharing it all with me.



Social media has been flooded with tributes from fans, celebrities and fellow gamers.



YouTuber Ted Nivison described him as: "Effortlessly hilarious." Endlessly talented. Too soon. Rest easy Technoblade.

TommyInnit, another popular YouTuber, wrote on Twitter: "Technoblade is a f**king legend. I can't express how grateful he has made me feel, from being a huge fan to becoming one of his closest friends. He's planning in heaven how to defeat God, I know that.



Sarcoma Foundation of America sent a statement to CNN, paying tribute to Technoblade and offering its condolences to his family.



Brandi Fleser, CEO of this charity, stated in the statement: "Technoblade rallied its supporters to raise over $500,000 so far to support sarcoma studies." This enabled SFA's to award Technoblade's research grants. Deep Space Exploration These efforts have left a legacy that will be passed on to future generations.



Felser stated that Technoblade would be honored with the organization's Courage Award, which is an annual honor given to individuals who inspire others to "create hope and a better lifestyle for the sarcoma population" later in the year.
