How To Reset Player Data On Your Minecraft Server

Each player that has connected to your server has a file which contains information about their inventory and whereabouts. Sometimes when things go wrong on the server, you're required to delete a player's data file to resolve the issue. After deleting their player's data file, they can connect as if a new person.

These steps will help you reset individual player data from your server.

To prevent any corruption, make sure your server is offline before you begin any tutorial that involves manipulating server files.

1. Firstly, we require the UUID of the player. Head over to https://namemc.com/ and input the Minecraft Name of the player you wish to reset the data.

The Universally Unique Identifier, also known as UUID, is a unique identifier that each player receives when they join a server. This allows for easy access to player information, item storage, and access to player-related information.

1. After you have found your player, a unique identifier will be displayed under their name. Similar to what is shown in the below image. To make it easy to find later, write down the UUID on a sticky note or notepad.

2. Now, go to your ServerMiner Control Panel. Click File Manager. (The following steps can also be replicated on FileZilla if you have prior knowledge in using FTPs).

3. Enter the folder of whichever world you currently have loaded onto your server. If you are unsure of which world you are using you can look at the Minecraft Worlds tab of your ServerMiner control panel to find out.

4. Navigate to the playerdata folder and enter it, this is where all the data (Inventory/Positions) of the players who join your server are stored.

5. If you don't have many files, you can search for the UUID and refer to it to the UUID that you have written down. To search for the UUID, you can also use the shortcut CTRL+F. Minecraft Server Hosting Once you've found it click the checkbox, and hit the Delete key.

Congratulations! Congratulations! You can now start up your server. Let that player join you! They will then spawn in the world without any items in their inventory.
