This is with reference to your query regarding freelook cancellation via email dated 12th May 2022. Your service request number is 78716014 which you can track at all on our touchpoints.


We have received your request for freelook cancellation and would like to highlight that having sufficient life cover is a necessity in today’s time. This policy has been designed to cater to the needs of our customers, and it has the right mix of benefits & returns, that will match your long-term insurance strategies. 


Keeping our promise of protecting your loved ones, we have customised our products to cover for COVID-19 as well. During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we strongly recommend that you continue with this policy and keep the Life insurance cover of Rs. 16,50,000.00 for the financial protection of your loved ones intact. 


We would urge you to reconsider your decision to cancel the policy to reap the benefits of this plan in future.


However, if you still wish to proceed with policy freelook cancellation, please follow the steps mentioned below:


Step 1: Duly-fill & sign the copy of the attached freelook cancellation request form.

Step 2: Visit nearest Tata AIA life Insurance branch with the documents listed below:


  1. Freelook cancellation request form (as attached) 
  2. The original policy documents within the free look period (i.e. For EIA Linked policies -30 days from EIA credit date and for Non-EIA policies, 15 days from the day of receipt of original policy document)
  3. ID and Address proof of the policy holder
  4. Aadhar card 
  5. A personalized cancelled chequewith self-attested signature(Not required for web sales issued policy as money would be credited to the account through which payment received) with printed customer name, account number and IFSC code or provide bank passbook copy/Bank statement (not more than one month old) with self-attested signature.
  6. NEFT form (as attached)


Note - Whenever you are providing aadhar card then it should be masked aadhaar number which implies replacing of first 8 digits of aadhaar number with some characters like “xxxx-xxxx” while only last 4 digits of the aadhar number are visible. You can also hide the 8 digits by placing a plain paper above them.


Your freelook period is active till 05/06/2022 and you can submit your documents to nearest Tata AIA branch latest by 05/06/2022 to process your request for freelook cancellation. 


Step 3: Submit your request to the branch in-charge and once your documents are submitted for processing, it will take 6 days for the request to get processed.

Kindly note below mentioned charges that would be deducted on free look cancellation of your policy.

  • Stamp duty charges @ ₹20 (per lac/ Sum assured amount) + medical charges in case if any + Goods & Service tax

We would like to introduce with our new customer portal – “My Digi account’ with revamped user interface to simplify customer self-service with additional features to make self-servicing hassle free and easy.


New User Registration steps:


1.Visit at

3.Enter any one value - Policy owner Mobile Number/ E - mail ID / Policy Number.

4.Enter policy owner DOB in DD/MM/YYYY format.

5.Enter correct OTP received on policy owner registered contact number and email ID.

6.When OTP matches with our backend record then password setup screen will appear.

7.Set password of your choice which should be minimum 8 character and must carry special character like @, #, $, %, &.

8.Confirm the password again; if it matches then password will be set for the policy.

9.You will see confirmation page, post that you need to login again with password. 




If in case insured is trying to login or register then he/she needs to contact policy owner for getting OTP.

On continuous 3 wrong OTP account will be locked for 24 hours.
