AFTER RACIST AND ANTI-GAY TEXTS WERE PUBLISHED, A TIKTOK STAR WA

TikTok actress Isabella Avila has come under fire when previous text screenshots showing her using racial and anti-gay insults at another TikTok celebrity were released.

Despite the fact that Avila, who uses the username OnlyJayUs on the platform, apologized in a video on February 13, Black creators on the social media site have criticized it as disingenuous and inadequate.

Lesbian Avila gained notoriety as the "psychology facts girl" for her humorous videos she produced on science and psychology. In 2016, she started uploading videos to YouTube, and in 2019, she switched to TikTok.

After early February screenshots showing Avila, 21, using racial and anti-gay insults in a conversation with another white artist from August 2016, there was a response.

She referred to the other creator as a "n***** lover" and used the anti-gay term "faggot," all of which are racist slurs for Black people.

Avila wrote, "I wish everyone you love dies, and I hope your parents get cancer."

On February 13, Avila apologized publicly for her remarks, calling them "disgusting," and expressing her remorse at having "used racial vocabulary and disrespectful language to damage others because I knew what that word meant and I recognized the power behind it."

She continued, "I'm really sorry to everyone, but especially to those in the Black community because only you guys can forgive me for this. I said it anyhow because it was the meanest thing that I could think of.
When I first viewed the screenshots, I didn't even think that they were real, according to Avila, since I had forgotten how furious and enraged I had formerly been.

The screenshots and things I've said in the past, she said, "do not reflect who I am today."
